Gordon's Day of Reckoning

Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Remember the Daniel Powter Song, BAD DAY? As Events, Dear Boy Events has pointed out, Gordon's had a bit of a stinker...
1. A PPS resigns;
2. Heathrow vote is too narrow for comfort;
3. IFS report not kind to Moses
4. IMF reports states that the UK will be the worst performing economy in 2009; and
5. Has a stinker at PMQs
6. Rumours begin that Obama may not come to London for the G20 summit.
An early night Prime Minister? Or perhaps a new mobile phone...

  1. Looks like Brown could be going to spend more time with farmy-farm sooner than we thought!

It is a day of reckoning for Brown! Brown has failed, indebted a nation and cannot even be honest with the people who did not elect him! Time for him to leave the stage before he not only brings the curtain down but causes the whole house to collapse.

Brown Brown Brown - Out Out Out!

Brown's political demise will be but a birth pang to a better Britain!

  2. I think we've had enough of Gordon's 'reckoning', don't you?

  3. What's really scary is that we've got another 12 months or so of this bollocks.

  4. Not necessarily - next week as i say is the last chance for Labour to ditch Brown: May well have an election this year in the spring.

Things are not going to get any better for the government, they might try and get some redemption by mitigating the loss in ditching Brown next week.

Why else would Brown be in tears if he was not in danger of being foreclosed out of number 10? The Icelandic PM has gone this week and going on the IMF report we seem to be the Iceland of the major economies on Brown's watch.

  5. All ye that despair pray for redemption and the absolute occupancy of No 10 by Brown until an election happens. Then we shall as a Nation begin to recover, no longer with the sea anchor that is Labour.

  6. check this out - copied from a post on Labour Home

"The CIA Factbook states that the UK Debt - External is $10.45 trillion as at June 2007.
This unfavourably compares with the US Debt - External, which stands at $12.25 trillion.

In other words the Debt - External between the two countries is about the same though the US economy is about six times the size of that of the UK (The GDP of the US is about $13.78 trillion against the GDP of the UK which is about $2.13 trillion).

The total world Debt - External stands at $51.78 trillion. This means that the UK Debt - External stands at around 20% of the world Debt - External.

The CIA Fact book defines Debt - External as 'This entry gives the total public and private debt owed to non-residents repayable in foreign currency, goods, or services."

Is Britain better placed to weather a recession? Is it really, Gordon Brown?

  7. Canvas, on another thread you accused me of scaremongering by quoting Sky News quoting the IMF saying we are going bankrupt. You rather prove their/my point!!!

  8. I did not say bankrupt - and neither did the IMF - you did. You used that language. I pointed out that you weren't sticking to the FACTS.

Only DC and Kay Birley and iain Dale mentioned bankruptcy - as far as I know.

But we are in the age of poo.

    :)

  9. Gordon Brown can use the Backing Britain Slogan from the 1960's at the next election with a slight modification.

    Brown Bankrupting Britain!

  11. I just watched Alec Salmond on TV tonight - after months of Brown - it was strange to see a leader 'Answer the question'......... (even though he had just had a bad day)

  12. I sense that Labour are going to have a second leadership crisis in less than a year.

  13. Yes Grim Reaper I think you are right - it seems a co-ordinated Ministerial Campaign to remove Brown. I wonder if Peter Mandelson is involved?

  14. Have you seen the crap that Prescott is peddling about Cameron on Go 4th tonight?

His post: "Cameron plane daft" is spin only a total idiot would fall for.

  18. You may feel queasy, you'll see I’m strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still want your vote after all that I've done
    You won't believe me
All you will see is a man you once knew
Although he’s run out of his luck
And hasn’t a clue what to do
I don’t know how it happened, but I can’t change
Can’t accept it was me at the wheel
Steering us to disaster. Can you spare a pound, son?
    Just one trillion
    Running around trying everything new
But nothing is working at all
    I never expected it to

Don't cry for me Great Britannia
The truth is I am an arsehole
    All through the good days
    With mad nonchalance
    I blew your money
    Now books don’t balance
And as for downturn, and as for bust
    I never invited them in
Though it seems to you now they are both all my fault
    They are illusions
And I have the solutions if you’ll only trust me
    The answer is borrowing more
I love you and hope you love me
Don't cry for me Great Britannia...

Don't cry for me Great Britannia
The truth is I am an arsehole
    All through the good days
    With mad nonchalance
    I blew your money
    Now books don’t balance
Have I said too much? There's nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is look at me to know that every word is true
