When I buy a newspaper or magazine I take for granted that there'll always be some contributors I'll absolutely loathe and some angles on stories I'll totally disagree with. When the tipping point has been reached and I loathe more than I like - as happened with the Guardian and the Spectator post-Boris - I'll change to another paper/magazine. The trouble with Total Politics is that you've started off with a tipping point. I would never have anything to do with a journal that featured input from Sami Shakrabatri and Denis McShane. I think you even give space to that world class irritant, Yasmin Alibi Brown. Who exactly are you trying to appeal to?

Ann Widdecombe's "something of the night" remark had nothing to do with Paxman. She said it in Parliament.
