Later...

Apologies for the quietness today. I have been at yet another family funeral. You know you have reached a certain age when this is your sixth funeral in six months. Will be posting again a bit later.

PS And thanks to the twenty people who have emailed me, worrying about my silence!

  5. Sorry to hear about your loss, Iain.

It's a testament to your popularity that you get such an influx of enquiries when you go quiet for less than a day!

  6. Ian, I've been to 4 funerals in 5 months, so I do sympathise.
Next time you are going to disappear, please warn us, I thought you'd been kidnapped by the Lib Dems !

  7. Sorry to hear about this. You give a lot to others and it's especially sad when someone is taken from you. I do hope that you will find real consolation.

  8. Condolences on your bereavement.

Today I have visited a life-long friend who is in hospital with a major problem, and have been told of an impending death of an old friend after a long and hard-fought illness.

Sort of puts political nonsense into perspective, especially after the Burma and now China devastations.
