Advice from the Stalking Consultancy

I met a very interesting ex Policeman tonight in the green room at Sky News. He was there to talk about the Shannon Matthews case. He handed me his business card on which he is described as giving "stalking advice and protection". Very interesting, I thought to myself. That could come in handy. His advice on dealing with stalkers was never ever to interact with them. He said it is impossible to reason with them because every time you answer a question, they change the question. Exactly my experience.

  1. Iain why do you keep avoiding my questions? Is Michael Ashcroft your secret backer? Have you got back the lead that was taken off your outbuilding roof? Is Total Politics just a way for you and Anne Widdecombe to create enough money so that you can run off together and start a cattery on Dartmoor?

Oh, and by the way, will you be standing in (Dr) Bob Spink's Essex constituency?

    Your stalker

  2. Have you been, or are you being stalked, Iain? Intriguing.

  3. "stalking advice and protection"

That reminds me of the old joke - seeing a poster saying Pervert Wanted and being disappointed that it wasn't a job offer.

  4. There are a many strange people about.
Am I the only one to think it a 'strange co-incidence' that 3 policemen have been found dead this week. 1 accident, 1 suicide, 1 murder. I see the Chief Constable Michael Todd was working in counter terroism.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/03/14/ntodd314.xml

Is there any link with him and the other 2 deaths?
Dorset Inspector Neil Munro 'jumped or fell' from a ferry.

  6. Isn't paradoxical that someone who wants to represent you as an evil Tory continually tries to take advantage of your good nature?

  10. Iain, I think it might be unwise for you to express your views on stalking since that could be seen as an open invitation to the unhinged. Think about it. Bad move.

  14. "Am I the only one to think it a 'strange co-incidence'..."

Of course not! This is the Internet, you know.

Thousands of nutters ready to discuss your 'strange coincidence' at the touch of a button.

Of course, if you could somehow work 'strange lights in the sky', 'fluoride in the tap water' or 'tracking devices inserted in banknotes' into it, you'd have more takers...

    Why do you say that?

  16. I do not want to scare you Iain but if you do have a stalker then you should take it very seriously indeed. There are some horrendous cases of stalkers being so obsessed that lengthy prison terms failed to deter them and of stalkers resorting to violence, when rejected by their victim. The reason that your former policeman told you not to encourage the stalker in any way was that these people will misinterpret the smallest sign, from the victim, as an affirmation of their illusions.

  17. Interesting.

Funnily enough, I regularly speak to active police officers regarding MPs and their ability to screw with our lives... especially the abusive ones.
