Have a look at the UK BOrders Act - passed in October. It specifically says that foreign criminals will be automatically deported - but then goes on to define 'foreign criminal' as those serving more than one year!<BR/><BR/>I'm afraid your mistake in this case is to confuse 'government policy' with one of Gordon Brown's soundbites.
