Credit to the new pro-Miliband Blog THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE, which featured in the Daily Telegraph's front page article this morning. Thjis blog was only set up last Wednesday and is already getting several hundred hits a day. Contrary to what the Telegraph says it hasn't actually got anything to do with Miliband - it's run by a couple of ordinary Labour bloggers.
This is just the sort of blog which could - I emphasise, could - make a difference to elections and campaigns.

LoL. An anonymous 'pro' miliband blog hosted on the same system as conservativehome.
CH is on typepad...
Iain ,thanks for the link I may have found a home at last and maybe even a friend or two.
" Could " is the word Milliband is even more unpopular than Brown and with good reason. he is recasting Bliar ,,slightly and is telling the same lies as ten years ago.
The Labour Party fear a contest because it will expose to the country what the Labour Party really is.
Oh ( Advertising break) my blog is active again...cheers
I see from the telegraph article that the Murdoch press may well support Miliband over Cameron. How utterly depressing.

Not so.
harry haddock, why are surprised?
Cameron has said he is liberal conservative not a neoconservative, and Milliband is jewish which is synonymous with neoconservative which is synonymous with Marxist.
Am I the only one puzzled as to my Milliband is pushed as the great last hope of the Blairites...Could it be because of the other contenders:
- "Dr" John Reid has made a dogs breakfast of the home office, and he's a Scot
- Alan "Who's he" Milburn is widely hated by all in the Labour Party and is so arrogant that he even makes Portillo look humble when there both on the This Week sofa. Wouldn't even get one Labour MP on his nomination
- David Blunkett has gone quite mad
- Charles Clarke, made a (another) dogs breakfast at the home office, some suggestion he has also gone mad, but making thoughtful speeches. Would struggle to get 44 Labour MPs to nominate.
So than leaves Millipede
Am I also the only one who finds Millipede less than impressive during his TV appearances. He comes across as a geeky policy wonk, very far divorced from the realities of the "common" people. Common in that they don't read the Guardian, nor live in Islington
Is this the best NuLab can do....
Just wondered if anyone had a comprehensive list of all blogs (to date) re: both leader and deputy leadship candidates/possible candidates.
Comments I have come across show many to be dubious about the authenticity of this blog.I arrived there using a link which started with you Iain,I feel a very late April fool joke is being organised, would I be correct ?
Good article by Littlejohn in the Mail ...

And the Number One enthusiast for all this is David Miliband, the man who so many people think should be Prime Minister.
It was his environment department which sent out the circular advising councils to scrap weekly collections in the name of saving the planet.
They would rather leave an arthritic pensioner with a bin full of stinking household waste for a month, just to serve their own sense of selfimportance and righteousness.
It's well documented that most of our carefully recycled refuse ends up being put on barges and towed to China, where it's burned, thus adding to global carbon emissions.
This has got nothing to do with the environment, it's about showing us who's boss.
Will any candidate at the forthcoming local elections have the guts to stand up and promise a return to weekly collections and an end to all this petty punishment culture?
Don't bank on it. The only answer is to remove government from rubbish collection altogether and let us deal directly with private contractors, who would do the whole job more cheaply, more efficiently and without any of this pathetic, political posturing.

Where does that leave Oliver Letwin and Malcolm Rifkind then?

The number of times I see pensioners arthritic or otherwise used to make a point really annoys me.I am a pensioner, as are most of my friends we support the recycling initiative.I don't have stinking waste waiting for a month to be collected it is collected fortnightly and is contained in wheeled bins.
