And Coming Up Tonight on Vox Politix...

Click HERE to find out what's on Vox Politix tonight at 9pm. In short, it's Bloggers' evening tonight, as I am joined by Alex Hilton of Recess Monkey & Labour Home fame, Stephen Tall from A Little Liberal Goes a Long Way and Phil Hendren from Dizzy Thinks.

At 10pm Tim Montgomerie is talking to Dr Liam Fox about the way our increasing energy consumption is helping to fund the military buildups of Russia and Iran, and what we should do about it.

At 10.45 Tim and I have a chat about Sir Richard Dannant, followed at 11pm by the End of the Day Show.

And it's at available live at 18DoughtyStreet.com...

Give my best to Alex. He has done a lot for blogging and deserves credit for that. I shall look forward to meeting him and the others on the show. Look forward to week two.

Make sure you don't let the appearence go to Phil's head. He seems to be taking this blogging thing a little too seriously of late. In fact, he seems to be posting more often than you these days, which is quite some feat..! And he has a job too! (Supposedly anyway.)

I used to read Iain Dale's diary to find out stuff about British politics. Now it's just endless plugs for internet TV and other media appearances by said Iain Dale. zzzzzzzzzz

Hafod, with respect, that's bollocks. Sure, last week I did post a lot about 18DS. Wouldn't you have done so? There will be one post per day on what's on my programme. Be a bit strange if I didn't advertise it wouldn't it? There are 5 other political posts on here today. Not enough?

Hafod, it is Iain's own personal blog, he can put on here whatever he wants. If he wants to be a self-publicising egotistical wannabe tv-celeb, then is that any of your business? You can always go elsewhere you know.

Your right Iain, "Hafod" is talking boll*cks. He/she is just jealous. 18Doughty Street is excellent.

I have to say that I have rapidly become somewhat disillusioned by 18DS. It was understanding that the show would be watchable throughout the day, but this doesn't appear to be the case. Hence, I have just read your plug for Monday night's show, which I would like to watch, but it is not available. Similarly, I had hoped to watch Thursday's show on Friday morning, and whilst this is now available it feels so 'yesterday' that I've gone off the idea. Ah well, it looks like it will have to be the Today show after all

Sehr geEhrter Iain

As Trinity said to Neo (the Matrix), it is the question that drives us :

Where is an 8-year-old Child, when you need him ??

Answer - he is coming this Friday, to shew me the buttons needed for us to listen to 18 Doughty Strasse !!!!

Alles Gute

Don't be so hard on Hafod Ian. One of the biggest problems in journalism is promoting yourself and you're doing a good job. However, for those of us with a long memory, I remember the downturn of the Daily Express many years ago when it began to advertise full page advertisments contained elsewhere in the paper on its front page. In your case keeping the blog rate up is the key, and for that you need to keep up the anti. For instance, your old boss (David Davis) made a sterling contribution in the Daily Telegraph on Sunday that could have been a good topic, but zilch! As my old granddad used to say, "Don't tread on anyone on the way up as you'll surely meet the same buggers on the way down".

Dizzy has forsaken his anonymity. I hope he got a few shekels. Verdict on yesterday - Alex Hilton makes it up as he goes along. Crumbling hospitals!!! Medics taking the restructuring decisions!!! It's all absolute noise. Why didn't anyone point out that populations are always growing in Tory seats and declining in Labour ones which makes the hotspot closure programme even more pernicious? Also, what did the woman contribute to the discussion?

I agree with Hafod. You used to be interesting, now it's a bore. Shilling is the least attractive of professions - you have become what your despised.

Rarely get time to watch anything at this time Iain, but will catch it if I can stream it late today.

That being said...

Alex Hilton said: however, the Labour leader engages in such activities with the ultimate aim of ending poverty and building a fairer Britain. The Eton hooray leading the Tory’s is doing so in order to screw the poor, privatise the NHS, isolate Britain from Europe and the US and take our nation back to the dark ages of Thatcher and Major.

Now when you give cretins like that airtime, it is doubtful whether the quality promised for 18DoughtyStreet can be maintained.

David W - Our streaming company told us they could auto-archive all programmes, but at the moment they are being done manually with about a 12 hour delay. We have a meeting with them this afternoon, so I hope it will be resolved then.

Odd Iain, I'm streaming Vox as I type so they must be getting their act together.

Give them a chance!

Admittedly I was disappointed not to be able to watch Lib Dem Blogger of the Year Stephen Tall over my cornflakes this am but it was up by this afternoon.

(By coincidence I was at an Oxford East Lib Dem meeting lat night and then went out for dinner with Cllr. Tall's ward colleague so missed the show live.)

Give the nice folk at 18DS a chance to sort out the inevitable teething problems!
