Mail readers could do with more laughter in their lives. The Grim Reaperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05543130733645367498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-40919631777070205342009-02-13T17:14:00.000+00:002009-02-13T17:14:00.000+00:00Why are people criticising Simon Heffer. He is a very independent journalist, and despite the aggressive tone of his articles, he has a wonderful way with the English language, and he is incredibly persuasive. You know where you stand with Heffer, and you know he will never compromise his views for anyone. The editorial line of the newspaper is broadly in favour of the Conservative Party, whereas Heffer is completely independent from the Tories, and has expressed support for UKIP. He is his own man, and he is the journalist whose views practically mirror mine, with a few minor exceptionsSixxstring90https://www.blogger.com/profile/05933864523348635275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-45537087331260964092009-02-13T16:27:00.000+00:002009-02-13T16:27:00.000+00:00To be honest, lately I've given up on the moderate...To be honest, lately I've given up on the moderates. New Labour keep on sinking in my estimation, which is no mean feat, and are now quite appalling.
They need to be brought to task a hell of a lot more. Hence Brogan has gone from my browser favourites.Magic2010https://www.blogger.com/profile/02696922547178127905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-62969122559048240512009-02-13T15:49:00.000+00:002009-02-13T15:49:00.000+00:00Good. I've always felt that he was too much in the pocket of New Labour because of Dacre's love affair with Brown.

Obviously he's more moderate than Heffer but at least Heffer is truly independent and contemptuous of everyone. Brogan is a weather vane, as Benn would say, depending on which way his Editor's wishes blow.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10611938286584363712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-37267782153974490252009-02-13T13:07:00.000+00:002009-02-13T13:07:00.000+00:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Lawrencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17934808638411120179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-64908988024906211002009-02-13T13:00:00.000+00:002009-02-13T13:00:00.000+00:00Good.
