Another for..."Politics is a rough trade". Another former leader of the opposition may agree with IDS about the rough trade bit, though perhaps not in the same context.Wrinkled Weaselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05291551539649118631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-27935623804321248232010-11-04T12:27:37.064+00:002010-11-04T12:27:37.064+00:00I admire IDS and his CSJ team immensley. I can understand the bit about leadership being a lonely lonely place and not sleeping at night. (1) Not making the case for the war in the terms it should have been put. (2) Playing a really poor game with the US, helping them with trumped-up intelligence in support of WMD and at the same time utterly failing to pressure them to have a coherant post-war plan.

Putting aside the tendancy to mock IDS that one inevitably feels at times, he's actually not a bad chap and in many ways quite a decent cove.DespairingLiberalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02903904463236135611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214838.post-14151062224819471642010-11-04T09:17:46.719+00:002010-11-04T09:17:46.719+00:00Really interesting on Blair and Iraq.
