I thought that was lighthearted enough nonsense.<BR/><BR/>What really annoyed me, more than anything from any party for a while, was how patronising and misguided it was. The message was that people get in to debt by buying Gucci and Cristal on a whim. Actually, debt problems occur because life is expensive and incomes are variable. The people with real problems are poorly paid in jobs which don't last, have family responsibilities and just live a little beyond their means.<BR/><BR/>It was telling that the Dave and George show seemed to think it was down to people blowing £200 on a decent bottle of bubbly.
