Is This the Best Ever Photo of The Queen?
This is Jane Bowen's photographic portrait of the Queen timed to coincide with the runup to her 80th birthday. What a fantastic picture. It really captures her softer side.
Yes, that's a wonderful portrait. As Cranmer says, utterly human (and I'm a republican so that's really what it's about as far as I'm concerned).
Cranmer: The ZZ top look is so 16th century. As is martyrdom. Even the most sinful are now allowed to return to the fold (Cabinet) after a short period of reflection. Have you considered using an image consultant? I understand Ms Carole Chaplin is very well thought of in the highest circles ..
Judging by tonight's 'elimination' of a Sinn Fein spy, it would appear that martyrdom is not merely a 16th century pursuit (and the Mohammedans don't think so either).
Image consultants have their uses, but only if one's obsession is with the exterior. For me, the inner life is the only one worth cultivating. And judging by the radiant aura emanating from Her Majesty, she would doubtless agree.
Cranmer: good points! I agree that the inner life is key but would suggest we are having a temporal experience for a spiritual reason. Though this is not the place for such musings. I'm not sure whether martyrdom is all the rage now- perhaps in some cases self inflicted victimhood?

Yes, indeed, a whole-hearted endorsement. It is an utterly human portrait, exuding warmth and compassion. Better even than this one of me --->
'It really captures her softer side.'
How well do you know Her Majesty to be in a position to know about 'her softer side'?!
Is there something you are not telling us?!
anonymous, well, far be it from me, but...

Ms Worth,

Monarchists!
